John Ortiz got a lucky break as a key role! Esai ‘Taino’ Osorio is the President of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre charter on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by American actor John Ortiz, Esai makes his debut in the series’ premiere episode, “Perro/Oc.”, in the series’ first season.
Ortiz will play Esai “Taino” Osorio, President of Mayans MC, Santo Padre Charter. A Mexi-Rican, he was born in the Bronx, then sent to Oakland to live with his cousin, Marcus Alvarez, founder and National President of Mayans MC. Like his cousin, he is as smart as he is deadly. Ortiz joins previously cast Clayton Cardenas and Edward James Olmos.
While, set in the aftermath of Jax Teller’s death at the end of SOA’s seven-season run in 2014, Mayans MC will focus on the struggles of EZ Reyes. Hence, he’s a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border.
He is married to Jennifer Ortiz and the couple has a son named Clemente. The family currently resides in California.
First of all, Ortiz’s credits include co-starring roles in Fox’s comedy-drama Rake and HBO’s Togetherness.
Also, a recurring on TBS’ upcoming anthology comedy series The Guest Book.
Another, most recently he’s appeared appeared in A Dog’s Purpose.
Furthermore, Ortiz has plenty of experience on the streets, having starred as villain Arturo Braga in the fourth and sixth installments of the Fast & Furious franchise.
Finally, last seen on TV with a recurring role on HBO’s Togetherness.
Likewise, he will pop up in next month’s Kong: Skull Island.
Repped by Gersh, Sanders/Armstrong/Caserta Management and Schreck Rose.
