In 2017 The Hollywood Reporter reported that she had been cast in Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans MC as Adelita. Carla Baratta stars as “Adelita.” As a child, she watched her family die at the hand of the Galindo cartel. Now, streetwise, driven, and seeking an eye for an eye, she mentors a ragtag group of Mexican orphans.
This Venezuelan actress is quickly becoming known for the powerful, multidimensional female characters she brings life to on screen. In 2018, she made her U.S. television debut in Mayans M.C.
In addition to her new role, Baratta included the lead role in the series Prueba de Fe (Proof of Faith), where she played the young Mother Teresa and communicated throughout the series in sign language.
Carla has also starred in the pilot Sol (Sun) for Venevision network, Escándalos(Scandals) and the short La Empanada Perfecta (The Perfect Empanada).
And, a selected TV appearances such as the web series “Bleep”.
Born and raised in Venezuela to first-generation Italians, Baratta fell in love with acting at just eleven years old, participating in her local community theatre group. While Baratta juggled her school work and theatre productions, she also continued to practice her love for painting, a passion project that would eventually lead her to sell her artwork worldwide.
Also. at 17 years old, Carla had the opportunity to participate in the New York Film Academy-Los Angeles. As the summer came to an end, Baratta returned to Venezuela to study architecture, before she decided to pursue a full-time career in acting.
Although Carla Baratta loved studying the planning and design that encompassed architecture, she often traveled to Caracas (one of the largest cities in Venezuela) to further hone her craft in acting.
Eventually, she booked a lead role in an international web series entitled “Bleep,” (broadcast by the mobile phone company Digital GSM in Venezuela) which she filmed during her summer vacation from school. Before making the move to Los Angeles, Baratta lived and worked as an architect and painter in Barcelona, Malaysia, and Caracas.
When Carla Baratta isn’t on set, you can find her painting or catching a play at a local theatre. She continues to work as an artist, her paintings often depicting people from all walks of life. Her art is currently displayed in various locations in Los Angeles and abroad in Venezuela.
